Description

Call all teen artists!  This camp is for YOU!

The BCHA is hosting its first-ever teen camp with an artistic twist for teens ages 13 to 18 years old.  In the style of Painting with a Twist and the adult-friendly Wine and Canvas classes, budding artists will have a chance to create a painting based on one of five Michigan Official State Symbols!  Led by a trained art instructor, teens will go from conception to creation all while learning from the BCHA the process of selecting an official symbol and how our chosen five achieved that vaulted status!

At the end of the week, all the paintings will be on display for a special one-night-only art exhibition to let our artists shine!  This event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.  Opportunities to purchase a painting may be available and location will be announced shortly!

Thanks to a Bridging Michigan Grant from Michigan Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities, this workshop is FREE to all participants.  However, due to limited space at our host libraries, registration is REQUIRED and there is a limit of one session per attendee.

Tickets are on sale beginning February 1st and will be available through March 24th.  Registration can take place online or over the phone at 269-471-1202.  Each session includes all the materials needed to complete an 8” x 10” picture, refreshments, and two-hours of instruction.
